Description:

TSW was retained to design the second phase of Club Drive Park, a passive recreational park in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The project includes several new features that will enhance the park-going experience for visitors.

One of the main elements of the design is the two boardwalk structures, which provide a unique experience of the surrounding woods and wetlands. The boardwalks are designed with integrated seating and signage elements, making it easy for visitors to rest and learn about the natural environment. The boardwalks will provide a great place for visitors to take a leisurely stroll, bird watch, or simply enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The park also includes a large lawn area that provides ample recreational space for activities such as picnics, games, and other outdoor events. The outer circulation path connects with the trails in Phase I of the park to create a multi-use exercise loop, making the park ideal for walkers, joggers, and cyclists.

Club Drive Park Phase II also incorporates a shade structure with picnic tables and an adjoining grilling station, providing visitors with a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The park includes a small play area for children with three pieces of play equipment, including swings and a sandbox. On the edge of the play area are custom arbor swings for adults, providing shaded spots for playground supervision and relaxation.

The park also includes parking and two designed informational kiosks, providing visitors with easy access to information about the park’s features, and surrounding areas. The park’s design is also mindful of sustainability and preserving the natural environment, making it a great place for visitors to connect with nature while enjoying a range of recreational activities.
