Description:

The Cobb Tennis Centers are a series of three tennis centers located at Harrison Park, Terrell Mill Park, and Kennworth Park. TSW provided architecture and landscape architecture services for the construction of these new tennis centers, which are designed to be used as prototypes for construction of future tennis centers in Cobb County. The buildings are designed to be as functional as they are beautiful and provide a perfect blend of form and function.

One of the unique features of the buildings is the 15 foot wide porches on three sides, which provide shaded viewing and outdoor gathering spaces. These porches are the perfect place to relax and watch a match, or to gather with friends and family. Additionally, the clerestory windows above the porch allow for natural light inside the tennis centers, which creates a bright and open atmosphere.

The aesthetic of the buildings is also noteworthy. The woodland aesthetic and exterior colors are carefully chosen to allow these buildings to comfortably fit in the natural environment of the public parks. This not only makes the buildings more visually appealing, but it also helps them blend in with the surroundings, making them feel like a natural part of the park landscape.

Another important aspect of the design is the use of durable materials. The materials used in the construction of these civic park buildings are chosen for their longevity, so that the buildings can withstand the wear and tear of daily use for years to come. This will help ensure that the buildings remain functional and attractive for the long-term benefit of the community.
