EAGLE PARK VILLAGE

Belmont, North Carolina
TSW, a leading provider of planning services, was retained by the developers of Eagle Park Village, a 57-acre Traditional Neighborhood Development located in the town of Belmont, just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. The community is centered around the historic Eagle Mill, a 70,000 square foot 1920s textile mill building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The mill building will be renovated to be used for live-work and commercial purposes, serving as the anchor for a dense mixed-use core.

The Eagle Mill structure will occupy roughly half of the development site, and will be surrounded by row houses and rental apartments that frame a series of civic spaces. The balance of the property will be a fine-grained mix of detached and attached housing types, all within a 1/4 mile walking radius of the existing adjacent elementary school. At completion, Eagle Park Village neighborhood will contain 470 units on 53 gross developable acres. The Eagle Mill building serves as the focal point of the community, and it’s renovation and incorporation into the development will give the residents a sense of history and community.

The Eagle Park Village development is a great example of smart growth and sustainable development, as it is designed to be walkable and bikeable, with a mix of uses, and easy access to public transportation, schools, and other community amenities. The development is also designed to be inclusive of all types of households, including families, singles, and empty-nesters. At completion, Eagle Park Village will be a vibrant and livable community that will provide its residents with a sense of community, history, and belonging.
