Master plan for Jekyll Island’s historic district to guide restoration, preservation, and enhancement
Included a week-long workshop to engage stakeholders
While with another firm, Thomas Walsh led the Jekyll Island Pilot Master Plan, which was developed to offer guidance in the restoration, preservation, and enhancement of the Jekyll Island Club Historic District. The Pilot Master Plan addresses the issues of preserving the Historic District into the island’s development, determining future land use within the Historic District, and making the Historic District financially self-sustaining.
The Pilot Master Planning Team used a system of personal interviews, intensive on-site and literature research, and a week-long workshop, as a means of evaluating the issues of the Historic District and developing conceptual plans for its preservation and future development.
