Description:

This expansive site of the Northwest Regional Hospital encompasses approximately 132.5 acres and has hosted a plethora of uses since its first structures were erected during WWII. Up until the 1970s, it served as a military hospital. TSW was retained by the City of Rome to research, evaluate, design, document, and execute creative place-making for the site.

The process included a site assessment, stakeholder input, a project visioning session, and final site design. Top project priorities that directed the design included job creation, an increase of tax base, opportunities for heavy manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, and hi-tech uses, and civic amenities.
