Context-sensitive downtown design for a timeless public space
Park focuses on creating several multi-use spaces for a wide range of park users
TSW worked with the City of Powder Springs to create a Town Green park at center of their Town Square. The design team created two concept plans for the City and public to review. The design strategies emphasized a multi-use amphitheater/flex lawn, signature splash pad, and trailhead connecting to the Silver Comet Trail. Additionally, the plan analyzed the proposed amphitheater and provided recommendations for the size of the facility including the stage and bathrooms. tree-filled bosque provides shade for park users and provides recreational opportunities with permanent ping pong tables.
A gateway sign arches over the entrance off of Marietta St, the main road and entry into the park. Physically and metaphorically framing the entry experience, the gateway sign formally begins the park experience for pedestrians and vechicles, alike.
