Description:

RiverTown is a 4,000-acre master-planned community along the St. Johns River, designed by TSW, a leading architecture and engineering firm. The community includes a variety of residential and retail options in distinct districts, each with its own unique character and amenities. To connect all of the districts and provide convenient access to the amenities, TSW’s Landscape Architecture Studio designed a network of multi-use trails and pedestrian-friendly streetscapes. These trails and streetscapes are designed to encourage active transportation, such as walking and cycling, and make it easy for residents to access the many parks and amenities within the community.

One of the signature parks of the development is RiverTown Community Park, a county-owned park that once completed, will feature a variety of amenities for residents and visitors to enjoy. The park will include a softball/baseball complex, known as RiverTown Fields, two soccer fields, eight tennis courts, parking areas, a dog park, passive field areas, restrooms, and multi-use paths. TSW was responsible for the design of the park, from concept to schematic and completed design development and construction documents. The construction of RiverTown Fields was completed in Fall 2008.

The park is designed to provide residents with a wide range of recreational opportunities, from organized sports to leisurely activities such as walking and picnicking. The softball/baseball complex and soccer fields are perfect for organized sports and leagues, while the tennis courts and dog park provide opportunities for more casual recreation. The passive field areas, restrooms, and multi-use paths offer a place for people to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the park.
