Description:

TSW, a leading architecture and engineering firm, was retained by the City of Duluth to plan and design the Rogers Bridge Dog Park and Rain Garden. The project aims to create a unique and functional park space for the community to enjoy, with a particular focus on providing a safe and enjoyable space for dogs to play and exercise.

The dog park consists of two off-leash areas: one acre enclosed area for small dogs and a two-acre enclosed area for large dogs. These areas provide ample space for dogs to run, play and socialize with other dogs. The park also includes amenities such as water fountains, seating areas, soft surface paths, and pergola structures, which provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for both dogs and their owners.

One of the key features of the park is the rain garden and bioswale, which serve as a stormwater detention area. This area captures rainwater and slowly releases it into other parts of the park, including ephemeral streams. This helps to improve water quality, reduce stormwater runoff, and create a more sustainable park.

TSW’s services for this project include pre-design, preliminary design, design development, construction documentation, bidding assistance, and construction administration. The firm’s expertise in landscape architecture, urban design, and engineering helped to create a functional, sustainable and visually appealing park for the community. The firm’s experience in project management, from pre-design to construction administration, ensures that the project is completed on time and within budget.
