Description:

The Vickery community master plan is a 210-acre mixed-use development that includes a town center, retail and office spaces, and residential products such as live/work units, townhomes, and single-family homes. The master plan was originated by the well-known firm of DPZ, and TSW was subsequently hired to carry the plan forward from concept to implementation.

As part of the landscape design process, TSW was involved in the creation of several of the parks and open spaces that are found throughout Vickery. The design intent was to create a park network where residences were located within walking distance of at least one park. This approach provides residents with easy access to outdoor recreational spaces and promotes an active and healthy lifestyle.

TSW completed grading, site layout, and hardscape design for the parks. The parks range from small pocket parks to neighborhood playgrounds to passive open spaces. The pocket parks provide a small green space for local residents, and the playgrounds are designed to provide fun and stimulating play for children. The passive open spaces are designed to provide a serene and natural environment for residents to enjoy.

One of the key features of the parks is the hardscape design. TSW’s expertise in hardscape design helped to create functional and visually appealing outdoor spaces that are enjoyed by residents.
