Transportation Planner or Civil Engineer
Atlanta-based TSW (www.tsw-design.com), an award-winning planning, architecture, and landscape architecture firm, is looking for a Transportation Planner and/or Civil Engineer in our Atlanta or Chattanooga office.
The successful candidate will work on a range of transportation planning and design projects, supporting our Planning and Landscape Architecture Studios. Examples include transportation and parking studies, streetscape designs, downtown master plans, comprehensive plans, and private developments. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in planning or related fields. Responsibilities will include managing community transportation projects; collaborating with teams of planners, landscape architects, architects, and other technical professionals; leading transportation and parking studies; preparing transportation sections for downtown, corridor, comprehensive, and small area studies; conducting public outreach; and producing maps and support graphics. We hope/expect that the selected candidate will:
- Have knowledge of and passion for community planning, which may include a degree, on-going studies, employment or volunteer experience, or demonstrated interest;
- Be experienced in managing transportation projects;
- Write clearly and concisely;
- Enjoy an innovative, fast-paced work environment;
- Have a passion for engaging with the public and be able to effectively communicate, including strong public speaking skills;
- Have project management experience with transportation projects; and
- Have graphic layout experience, focusing on street sections, maps, visioning graphics;
All applicants should have intermediate experience with software including ArcGIS Pro, MS Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Skills in SketchUp and Lumion, are desirable, but not required.
