Urban Designer, Entry-Level/Junior

We are specifically seeking entry-level/junior Urban Design candidates, in our Atlanta office, to work collaboratively on design projects ranging from urban to rural in context. The candidate must have a graduate degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture or a related field, or at least two years of relevant experience. Candidates with degrees in Planning will be considered if their background includes at least 2 years of professional practice with work samples that demonstrate strong design and drawing experience.

Responsibilities will include assisting with urban master plans; greenfield plans; test-fit studies; infill developments; downtown vision plans; 3D graphic modeling; and project management support for both public and private clients.

We hope/expect that the selected candidate will:

  • Have knowledge of and passion for urban design and community planning
  • Have knowledge of building typologies and ability to conduct regulatory analysis
  • Have knowledge of grading and drainage plans
  • Possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Write clearly and concisely
  • Be comfortable engaging directly with community members and have public speaking skills
  • Demonstrate graphic layout and graphic design experience, particularly in development of maps and planning documents
  • Show initiative and have a proactive approach to work
  • Enjoy an innovative, creative work environment

All applicants should have a working knowledge of software including ArcMap Pro, AutoCAD, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, Microsoft Suite.

Additionally, Lumion and Adobe Premiere are desirable, but not required. Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus!
