Description:
The Master Plan for the Pittsburgh Yards Site establishes a comprehensive vision for a 13.7-acre parcel located at 356 University Avenue in Atlanta’s Pittsburgh neighborhood, directly fronting the BeltLine Southside Trail. This site, part of the larger Pittsburgh Yards development, offers a transformative opportunity to drive economic equity, job growth, and community investment through a mix of residential, commercial, and public spaces, and presents the opportunity to become a catalyst for long-term neighborhood revitalization.
In collaboration with ABI and local stakeholders, TSW focused on mixed-income housing, economic development opportunities, and connectivity enhancements. Emphasis was placed on integrating community input into the site design, ensuring alignment with both local priorities and ABI’s overarching goals. The reimaging of the site included affordable and mixed income housing, commercial spaces, and public amenities, with particular attention given to wealth-building initiatives for neighborhood residents.
Key outcomes of the plan included a site analysis addressing topography, stormwater management, and infrastructure needs; a phased implementation plan to guide development timelines; and design guidelines ensuring architectural character aligns with BeltLine Overlay requirements.
