TSW provided planning services for Eagle Park Village, a 57-acre Traditional Neighborhood Development in the town of Belmont, just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. The centerpiece of the community is the historic Eagle Mill, a 70,000 square foot 1920s textile mill building listed on the National Register of Historic Places, to be renovated for live-work and commercial use.
The structure will anchor a dense mixed-use core, occupying roughly half of the site, including row houses and rental apartments which frame a series of civic spaces. The balance of the property will be a fine-grained mix of detached and attached housing types, all within a 1/4 mile walking radius of the existing adjacent elementary school. At completion, the Eagle Park Village neighborhood will contain 470 units on 53 gross developable acres.
