- Landscape architecture services for renovating the surroundings of a campus building
- From conceptual design to construction documents and administration
Description:
TSW provided landscape architecture services to Georgia Tech for the Old Civil Engineering Building renovation, which is located in the historic portion of the campus. The scope of services for the project included phases for inventory and analysis, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
TSW’s approach was focused heavily on integrating ecologically-based landscape and open spaces to reduce stormwater and providing a design that enhances and unifies not only the site but also ties it to the entire campus. A cistern was incorporated to capture stormwater runoff to be used for irrigation. The building’s renovation and site work earned LEED Gold certification.
The final product, as part of the construction document phase, included plans for hardscape, planting, irrigation, site furnishing, electrical, and detailed site grading.
