Description:
Kennesaw State University, the third largest university in Georgia with an enrollment of 23,500 students, has maintained a long-standing partnership with TSW’s landscape architecture studio. Since the late 1990s, TSW has collaborated with the university on a wide range of campus improvements that reflect a commitment to thoughtful design and campus enhancement.
Over the past two decades, TSW has contributed to numerous projects at Kennesaw State, including the Oval, Nursing Building Plaza, Campus Entry Sign, Convocation/Education Circulation System, Student Union Plaza, and President’s Garden. A standout among these efforts is the Health Sciences Building, also known as Prillaman Hall.
Designed by Cooper Carry and opened in August 2010, the $56 million Health Sciences Building includes a comprehensive landscape design by TSW. The firm led the site planning, construction documents, and construction administration for the building’s surrounding areas—including a prominent courtyard and plaza space. The project achieved LEED Gold certification, with TSW playing a key role in securing landscape-related credits through sustainable design strategies.
TSW’s approach to this project prioritized both aesthetics and performance. The resulting landscape not only enhances the visual appeal of the facility but also improves its functionality as a vibrant and accessible space within the larger campus.
TSW’s ongoing involvement at Kennesaw State University reflects a deep understanding of the campus context and a consistent ability to deliver high-quality, sustainable, and student-centered outdoor environments. Their work on Prillaman Hall stands as a clear example of this enduring commitment.
