Description:

TSW was retained by the City of Peachtree Corners to provide comprehensive planning, architecture, and landscape architecture services for the community’s signature urban park space. Conceived as the “front yard” of the city, the park functions as a vibrant town green anchored by a large oval amphitheater that accommodates performances, festivals, and community gatherings.

To ensure the space offers year-round activity for residents of all ages, the design integrates a wide variety of features and amenities. These include an interactive water feature that doubles as a play space, two open-air pavilions for shade and community use, a performance stage with outdoor movie projection capability, a Veteran’s Monument, playable art installations, sculpted turf berms, and a community garden. Each element was carefully planned to balance recreation, relaxation, and cultural expression, creating a civic space that is both flexible and memorable.

TSW provided full landscape architecture services for the Town Center Park, weaving pedestrian circulation, planting design, and activity zones into a cohesive experience. The design emphasizes sustainability through the use of Low Impact Design (LID) strategies, such as bioswales to manage stormwater and a large underground cistern that harvests rainwater for irrigation. In addition, TSW’s architecture studio provided full architectural services for two key structures: the amphitheater performance pavilion and a public restroom building, both designed to complement the character of the park while serving practical community needs.

A subsequent phase of the project expands the City Green into a Botanical Garden that links the pedestrian bridge with the park along the edge of an existing stream. This garden incorporates a tree house, meandering paths, and labeled trees to provide educational opportunities for children and adults alike. Together, the park and garden form a central destination that reflects the identity, values, and aspirations of Peachtree Corners.
