Piedmont Park’s Greystone wins Atlanta Urban Design Commission Award

The Atlanta Urban Design Commission (AUDC) was established in 1975 to oversee the city’s historic buildings, sites, and districts, and each year they recognize efforts in preserving Atlanta’s history.

This year, Greystone, Piedmont Park’s bathhouse and pool, received an AUDC Development of Excellence Award at their award ceremony on Wednesday, June 30. The bathhouse, originally built in 1911, and the pool, added in 1973, were recently renovated as one of the remaining renovation projects of the Piedmont Park Master Plan.

The bathhouse and pool area renovation consists of lap lanes with recreational features, beach entry with current channel for floating, concessions, pool level locker room and showers, lifeguard station, ADA accessibility, and multiuse facilities with space for programs, exhibits, and events.

TSW was responsible for schematic landscape design and construction documents for the pool area and surrounding grounds. The project is seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
