Description:
Atlanta BeltLine Pittsburgh Yards Redevelopment Master Plan outlines a transformative vision for a 13.7-acre site located at 356 University Avenue, strategically positioned along the Atlanta BeltLine Southside Trail in the historic Pittsburgh neighborhood. This redevelopment initiative is designed to foster economic equity, job creation, and community-driven investment through a dynamic blend of mixed-income housing, commercial development, and public amenities.
Led by TSW in collaboration with Atlanta BeltLine Inc. (ABI) and local stakeholders, the master planning process prioritized community engagement, ensuring that the design reflects the aspirations and needs of neighborhood residents. The plan integrates affordable housing, small business opportunities, and wealth-building strategies, with a strong emphasis on connectivity enhancements that link the site to surrounding neighborhoods and the BeltLine corridor.
Key components of the plan include a detailed site analysis addressing topography, stormwater management, and infrastructure improvements. A phased implementation strategy provides a clear roadmap for development, while design guidelines ensure architectural consistency with the BeltLine Overlay District. The plan also supports long-term sustainability and resilience, positioning Pittsburgh Yards as a catalyst for equitable urban renewal.
By aligning with ABI’s broader goals and incorporating local input, the Pittsburgh Yards Master Plan sets a precedent for inclusive, community-centered development in Atlanta. It represents a bold step toward creating a vibrant, connected, and economically empowered neighborhood that honors its history while embracing future growth.
