TSW has been an active partner in advancing the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Livable Centers Initiative (LCI), helping communities reimagine established corridors and activity centers as more walkable, connected, and economically vibrant places. Through these efforts, TSW brings its integrated expertise in planning, landscape architecture, and urban design to translate regional goals into implementable, place-based solutions.
Our work on LCI studies focuses on aligning transportation, land use, and public realm improvements to support compact, mixed-use development patterns. TSW leads community-driven processes that engage stakeholders, residents, and local leaders to build consensus around a shared vision. This includes analyzing existing conditions, identifying redevelopment opportunities, and developing actionable recommendations for mobility, streetscapes, open space, and infill development.
A key strength of TSW’s role is the ability to move from vision to implementation providing realistic phasing strategies, design guidelines, and funding pathways that position projects for success. We emphasize creating people-focused environments that prioritize walkability, transit access, and high-quality public spaces.
Through LCI projects, TSW helps local governments unlock funding, attract private investment, and create lasting improvements that enhance quality of life while supporting long-term economic and community resilience.
