Description:

The City of Gulf Shores has retained TSW’s Landscape Architecture Studio to develop the Gulf Shores Public Space Guidelines & Standards for the city. These standards will include typical streetscape elements such as lighting, benches, trash cans, bollards, specialty pavements, planting materials, and wayfinding/signage by district. TSW will also be responsible for creating and designing the graphic document that will outline these standards.

The Public Outdoor Space standards will serve as a guide for the design and construction of all public spaces in the City of Gulf Shores, including parks, plazas, sidewalks, and other public areas. These standards will ensure that all public spaces are designed and built to the same high standards, providing a consistent and cohesive aesthetic throughout the city.

The streetscape elements such as lighting, benches, trash cans, and bollards will enhance the safety and functionality of public spaces, while the specialty pavements and planting materials will add visual interest and beauty. The wayfinding and signage will make it easy for visitors and residents to navigate the city, making it more accessible and user-friendly.

TSW’s expertise in urban design and landscape architecture will ensure that the Gulf Shores Public Space Guidelines & Standards are not only functional but also visually pleasing and consistent with the city’s overall aesthetic. The graphic document will be easy to understand and follow, making it easy for contractors and designers to implement these standards in their projects. This will result in public spaces that are safe, functional, and visually appealing, creating a more livable and enjoyable city for all residents and visitors.
