Description:

Since 2021, TSW has worked with the City of Midwest City and SSM Health on the Plaza 62 Hospital District Revitalization Master Plan, which established a vision for a new, walkable mixed-use district supported by an overlay code and design standards. The plan and code were adopted unanimously by the City, and TSW has continued involvement through schematic design, design development, and construction documents for the district’s streetscapes, wayfinding strategy, new urban park, trails, and stormwater improvements.

The wayfinding strategy establishes a cohesive framework for locating a family of signs including gateway signs, trail kiosks, directional signage, beacons, and selfie art installations. Designed to be functional and expressive, the system incorporates local materials, a unified brand strategy, and integrated lighting to ensure visibility and identity at all times of the day. Beyond helping visitors navigate, the signs reinforce a sense of place, reflecting its local roots.

The construction document phase for the streetscape, park, trail, and signage components is currently underway, with construction anticipated to begin in early 2026.
