Site design included a large, grand open lawn that can serve to facilitate multi-use fields, surrounded by a ½-mile loop that connects to the larger park loop, serving as a recreational trail connecting the pieces of the park. A fenced-in dog park anchors the south end of the site, containing both a small dog park and a large dog park.
The recreation trail takes you from this park and around the grass lawn that serves as parking for the outdoor amphitheater. This amphitheater, meant to facilitate the many concerts and events the City of Perry hosts, includes sloped lawn seating, built in slope seating, a restroom building, a sound stage, a concert stage with shade sail, a green room, and VIP towers. Efforts were made to not only space the stage and amphitheater in the correct direction for optimal sun angles but also follows the natural existing topography of the site to mitigate the need for excess excavation.
This park was designed as a memorial park, honoring both veterans and Perry citizens through engraved polished granite memorial walls and a tranquil reflective fountain. A remnant of the old granite retaining wall is preserved and rehabbed to create a shaded plaza and seating area near the future renovated gas station on site.
